Replace ます with たいです to say “want to (do)”: 行きたいです.
にほんへ いきたいです。
I want to go to Japan.
Take the ます-stem (行きます → 行き) and add たいです to express “want to do”. たい conjugates like an い-adjective (negative 行きたくないです). The object may take を or が.

List representative actions: 〜たり、〜たり します.
にちようびは そうじしたり、せんたくしたり します。
On Sundays I do things like cleaning and laundry.
Add り to the た-form for each example action and finish with します. Unlike て-sequencing, it gives a non-exhaustive, unordered list of representative activities.
た-form + ことが あります = “have (once) done …” (experience).
わたしは にほんへ いった ことが あります。
I have been to Japan.
The た-form is the plain past (行く→行った, 食べる→食べた). た + ことが あります says you have the experience of doing something at least once.
や lists nouns as examples — “A and B (among others)”, unlike と, which gives a complete list.
きょうとや ならへ いきました。
I went to Kyoto and Nara (among other places).
つくえの うえに ほんや ノートが あります。
On the desk there are books, notebooks and so on.
や joins nouns but implies the list is partial (“and so on”), much like 〜たり〜たり does for verbs. Use と for an exhaustive “A and B”.
It is often paired with …など (“…and the like”) at the end of the list.
