dict+ところ = about to; ているところ = in the middle of; た+ところ = just did.

今　出かけるところです。

いま　でかけるところです。

I'm just about to go out.

ところ marks the exact phase of an action: 食べるところ (about to eat), 食べているところ (in the middle of eating), 食べたところ (just finished eating).

～はずですはず — it should / ought to be

Expectation はず

A logical expectation based on evidence: 〜はずです.

彼は　もう　着いているはずです。

かれは　もう　ついているはずです。

He should have arrived by now.

はず states what you logically expect to be true given the circumstances (not just a guess). Negative: 〜ないはずです or 〜はずがありません (couldn't possibly).
