The particle へ: direction of movement

へ marks the direction of a movement and is written with the kana へ but pronounced 'e'. Where に names the destination, へ names the heading — often interchangeable, not always.

へ (read “e”) marks where you go/come/return. Used with 行きます, 来ます, 帰ります.

京都へ　行きます。

きょうとへ　いきます。

I'm going to Kyoto.

へ marks the direction/destination of a movement verb. Just as the topic particle は is read “wa”, the particle へ is written へ but pronounced “e”.
